We did it! It’s official! 64 hours of non-stop chess, breaking boundaries, and amplifying the voices of children across Africa. We’re thrilled to announce that Tunde Onakoya and Shawn Martinez have set a new world record for the longest chess marathon, shattering the previous record of 61 hours, 3 minutes, and 34 seconds held by Norwegian players Odin Blikra Vea and Askild Bryn. On Sunday, April 20th, 2025, at 12 PM (WAT), history was made with a remarkable 64-hour chess marathon. The 64 hours symbolise the 64 squares on the chessboard, representing our mission to reshape the narrative of the African child and tell a new story of hope and possibility. This achievement belongs to all of us! Thank you for donating, sharing, and raising your voices to support this cause. But the journey doesn’t end here. You can continue to make an impact by sharing our story and supporting our mission. Together, we can keep changing lives and building a brighter future for Africa’s children. Let’s keep making history!
